Anyone interested in chanting to Krishna Das CDs as a group. Come join my girl friend and I for some chanting meditation to Krishna Das using his CDs. We have a meditation room in our home and have some Krishna Das CDs that we can follow. We love chanting with each other and would love to chant in a larger group.

Also, every 3rd Saturday at the Arlington Center from 7-9pm there is some great kirtan. We are going this Saturday.

Much love,

Hello everyone -

I am looking for 1-2 more women to join a circle in JP. I have 4 others interested right now and was aiming for a total between 6 - 8. This will be a twice a month meeting that combines discussion, readings, activities around topics designed by the group. The intention is not strictly healing, but through the topics and sharing, I'm sure this will take place for all of us. I see topics being relationships, self evolution, community, goals, etc...

Please reply or message me if you are interested.

Peace,
Erikka

The choir is lead by Joel with great experience in Pythagorean Philosophy, Renaissance Music and Astrology (all of which inter relate in this program), Teacher at Findhorn Foundation in Scotland.

Space for Event?

Hi friends. I am currently looking for a fairly large space (preferably with many rooms) to host a fundraising performance/ estatic dance night event. I am hoping for the event to be in Jamaica Plains, but I am open to many areas.

Preferably, the space would be fairly accessable, and in a place where people would feel free to enjoy themselves until the wee hours of the morning.

Let me know!

Need website for my photography

I'm looking for someone who can design and build a website for my photography. I don't have a lot of money for your services(up to $100) but can do a photography and/or labor barter of some sort. I do event, portrait/candid, landscape/seascape, etc. I've freelanced for the JP Gazette, shown my work at various establishments in Boston, had my pictures printed in the Wake Up the Earth Festival brochure, and will be participating in JP Open Studios/First Thursdays this September at Rhythm and Muse Bookstore. Ideally, I'd like to have the website done before September.

Any help with this would be appreciated!!

DESPERATE REPOST: FOSTER HOME NEEDED!!!!!!

Hi everyone!

I am reposting this in the hope that someone may be able to help me and my gorgeous dog Socrates out. It's a big one ... I am moving back to Australia from Boston and want desperately to take my baby with me. However, all the quarantine places in Australia are filled up for the next 5-6 months. Since I can only legally (well, legally-esque - i think i'm already over my visa limitations) stay in america for another month, I cannot wait with him. So, I am hoping to find someone out there who loves animals and is willing to foster Socrates during the time it takes to secure him a spot in quarantine.

He is a beautiful fox terrier/beagle mix, with a truly old soul and the heart of an angel. He LOVES humans, and would bring so much love and affection to you. He's nearly 5, in good health, and I would of course provide a much remuneration as I possibly could, incl his food/vet bills.

It's a big ask, I know, but I have to try and believe that there is someone out there who may be able to help me and my beloved get through this. I've had him for a year, and cannot imagine my life without him. If you are interested, or know anyone who may be, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know asap! Thankyou!

Hoping and loving,
Lauren and Socrates

Hello

Hello, just read all the old posts and joined this Tribe. I live in JP by the Harvest.

Just moved here from down the street, near -- well, Fernandez Spa if you know that. Or El Puly, a men's clothing store (though I never see anyone go in there and buy clothes). What else is down there? I'm trying to think of a landmark -- off South Street near Forest Hills. Hows' that? That's where I used to live.

And now I've got to go figure out what to do since my shelves won't stay up in this new place. And all my books are piled on my bed, and the room is a wreck. The joys of moving. I just thank G*d it was just down the street. (G*d bc I know some people don't like you to write it out, consider it offensive).

Thanks!

if anyone is looking for or knows someone who is looking for a summer sublet starting may 1st please, check this out. my roommate is going to israel for the summer, and we're trying to fill the void. heres what she had to say:

This is an awsome apt with a lot of character, great roommates and cool hippy landlord, sorry I have to leave for the summer:

1 Large sunny bedroom, with Large closet, available May 1st - August 31st. Bedroom is fully furnished w/ queen-sized bed, dresser, bedside table. The apt. is spacious with living room, music room, large kitchen w/ new stove & dishwasher, bathroom, storage space. All newly painted and colorful. Street parking, W/D right in the basement. Smokers must keep it outside on porch. In the summer the front yard is a beautiful wild garden.

The roommates are great: 2M (23 y.o.), 1 student 1 social worker, both really cool to chill with.

Location: less than 5 mins to Stoneybrook Orange line and 39 bus. Short walk to the best of JP incl. bars (Milky Way, Behan), Video Underground, City Feed market, restaurants, JP pond & bike path.

the JP of long ago.

heh, I used to squat in the big ship shaped building right across the street from Dunkin Donuts and Blanchards near the monument. Fours years of LEGAL free living (thank you Boston!).

anyone remember "the Hole"? The illegal club in the basement of a warehouse on green street near Washington? I ran that space with a few friends until there was a nasty fight one night, and the mayor's office wrote us a cease and desist order. Still, it was fun while it lasted (except for when the toilet backed up).

I was in JP for a day last summer. It's funny how it's changed so much. Still, some things have not changed. JP Jake walked by me and gave me this look like I hadn't been gone even a day.
